Exercise

I'm tired.. I did this one at work. I'm kinda middle of the road, there are things I could have fixed if I'd had more than a half hour.. although it does make for an interesting exercise.

Hands, and Ankles and Boobs OH MY!

I'm not too happy with the way the face turned out. or the hair really.. I'm thinking shower... or lots of hair gel. The body, and the ankle in the air turn out well. I'm happy. but the other foot and the hands... could use some work. *Shrug*

Danish

I did this one at work, on my lunch break today. I like it. I could have spent a lot of time fixing little things here and.. but.. alas.. I only get a half hour :P Also.. she looks like she has a danish on the back of her head...

Minutes

I'm getting faster, what used to take me hours took me 30 minutes at the most. It's an inspiring thought, knowing that I AM getting better.. seeing what some of the first ones looked like, and knowing how long they took.. and looking at myself now. I can do this.

Yeah I know it sucks, but it was my first day back at work. I grabbed a Starbucks cup, and drew it on my lunch break.. cut me some slack. :P

Another mannequin study today. Not much to say. I'm hoping that playing around with the mannequin will help me with my anatomy...witch truth be told.. isn't all that great...:P

Brody

I'm not sure why, but Brody seems the right name for this guy. Yes I know he doesn't have shoulders or anything.. but I'm still not feeling well. Honestly I surprised that I got even this much out. It looks great though. I'm proud of it. :)

Sinister

So apparently this is what the common cold looks like... not as sinister looking as I would have thought concidering what it's doing to my body... though it does look like a miniature water mine... ya know.. like the ones attatched to the chains and anchored to the bottom of the ocean. Hmm maybe sinister after all.. :P

Balloon

I'm still sick. I feel like there's a balloon full of water and sand in my head. Ugh. I almost fell asleep, and forgot to do a drawing today. So this is all you get.

Also I just realized that her fisted arm isnt attached to the rest of her body... hmm.. might have to go back and fix that tomorrow...

Angry, sick toddlers, do not make for good bedfellows. Not my best work, but to be frank I'm lucky I got a drawing done today at all... instead of a stick figure. That is all.

So I got a job today!! Woot Woot! I've been celebrating, and in honor of that celebration... Martini! Enjoy.

The Walk

Well, I'm getting faster. I had no idea what to do today. I sat down drew a head, and about a half hour later... Voila! We have a person! With very cool hair I might add. The hands are bugging me, but over all, I like it, and I'm happy enough with it, that I might even ink/color it tomorrow.

Audrey

Not happy with how this turned out...but honestly after so many erases, you just have to accept it, and chalk it up to a learning experience. Most of it looks ok, but I think all of the facial features are too big... hmm maybe that was the problem. *shrug* Try again tomorrow.

P.S.  It was supposed to be Audrey Hepburn O_O ugh... Not my proudest moment...

Suprise! Rage.

I attempted anger today. I do have to clarify that anime anger, and normal human anger... vary, quite a bit. No he isn't a vampire/werewolf or other big baddy, the teeth are just how anime character express rage. *shrug* I like it. :) Oh, if he looks like Link from the "Ocarina of Time"... that's cause it is... :P

Stalker

The point today was to make him look surprised... I think I succeeded in making him look more sinister... creepy stalker than surprised... *shrug* I won't get it right all the time. That's all for now.

Weight

I realized that I've drawn nothing but skinny (and in the case of the women) busty people. So I thought I should branch out. I know he's not proportionate, even for a over weight man, but it was a quick sketch, and I'm still not feeling well. :(

The Kiss

It's been a while since I did anything with more than one person in it, so I have to say I'm happy with how this turned out. I would have gone further with it; fixed the placement of the guys arm/hand, flesh out his beard so it actually looked like a beard, and clean the whole thing up a bit, but my headache had other ideas. Enjoy.

Muscle

I used the light box today in order to get the basic shape of things, and just went from there. I'm pretty happy with the hair...I mean it looks good... great even, since the the guy I used as a reference has very wavy, mussy hair. (the kinda beach wind blown look.) But for me it's hard to look at it and not try to fix every hair... :P One reason I chose this particular pose is his arms. I mean just look at 'em, they're awesome! It was nice to have a model with some real muscle tone for once!

Dangerous Beauty

Have you ever seen the movie "Dangerous Beauty"? In order to truly understand where the inspiration for this piece came from, you need to watch this scene from the movie (it's about minute 3:10 so just skip ahead.) I... I just don't have words. To this day I can watch this, and feel the way I did the first time. *sigh*

*Whew* another early finish, and another model. More junk mail, it's a great inspiration though. :P I'm not super happy with the way the eyes turned out, but It's a smaller sketch book, so I don't have as much room. :(  

Over all, I'd have to judge it as a success!

Model

It's a new record. Done for the day before 7:30pm O_O. I used an ad for Kohl's we got in the mail as a reference photo, and changed a few things: Lengthened the neckline of her shirt, closed her lips a bit, and omitted the bag she was holding all together. Over all I'm super happy with the result, so yay me!

Stages

I tried to up load this last night, but my computer was acting up. I don't think I've done two drawings in a day that took so much effort. As I said before, I did use the light box for the shape of it, but everything else was done freehand. Whew.  I wanted to share with you the three stages of the drawing I did today for my beautiful gal friend. Enjoy.

Another friend asked me to do a drawing of them, so here it is. I used the light box to get all the basic shapes in, and then played with the hair a bit. I hope you like it Beautiful!

Ficusboy

A while back I tried my hand at my own webcomic... I may have mentioned this before, but it didn't get far. Anyway a good friend of mine was the inspiration for one of the characters. Oddly enough... his character was a plant... a ficus to be exact... ... hard to explain the reason behind this without giving away too much.

Now that I've said all that, I did today's drawing because he made a joke about drawing him, and a ficus... so here it is. It's not my best, but I like how it turned out.

Crowned

To say that I used an old sketch as a reference would be a bit of a stretch.. I used several pictures for reference. The crowned heart on the bottom, is supposed to be on her t-shirt, but it didn't look right from the side. :P Also, yes, I know that the body is too small for her head... but, by the time I noticed it, it was already too late. So, live and learn right?

Risqué

So again with the old art box finds. They are kinda NSFW. So yeah. You are forewarned.

It's awesome to look at these and see the things that I was strong on, and the things that I obviously needed to work on. The first two are among my first (I think) attempts to draw people together... in the "arms wrapped around me" kinda way. I'm still proud of them both, the second one more so, minus a few things here and there. The third one I did back in '06. Seems like forever ago now. Yes I know the proportions are off. I'm posting it more as a "look how far I've come" rather than an "I'm so proud". I hope you enjoy them!
